Went to watch DHTS performance "Senses - a rediscovery". It was a unique experience as the dancers were interactive w/ the audience. The dance is a 75 min non-stop performance that depicts the journey of how a gal rediscovers her five senses. I really enjoyed it. Below is a summary of the dance.
Undeveloped senses limit the capacity of the mind. Often, we breathe but not smell the air, we see but not with your mind's eye; we taste but not savour, we listen but not with our hearts, we merely touch but not feel.
In rediscovering the five senses of smell, sight, taste, hearing and touch, this contemporary dance production makes a bold move to explore these intricate and innate sensations:
A newborn's first breath reeks of fear.
The real test of vision lies in the vulnerability to discern beyond the superficial.
As various life encounters unfold, the taste lingers.
Relationship vignettes inspire thoughts to hear other people's thoughts and to listen to one's own voice.
Try as you will, feelings being ethereal leave no traces.
By engaging the audience through a conscious experience of the various sensations, the performance stimulates more in-depth observations not only to descry hidden subtle messages manifested in the dancers' movements buy also to perceive beyond the primary sensation to seek deeper meanings.
It juz makes me feel like dancing again.
