This past week is an extremely shag week. Not only are we physically shag out, i was quite "lucky" to be chosen to do lotsa shit. Never had i felt so shag b4..
Monday
-10km endurance run. I came in 11th this time. Overtaken by several ppl halfway, including KarLok, Abisheq, Eugene Toh, Kenneth Mak, Darren(Wei Ming) and even Frank Chin! But at least i met my timing.
Tuesday
-SOC. Had to do it 5 times. SBO(LBV), then w/ rifle, then clean fatigue, then w/ rifle and then SBO. The 5th time i did it, i can't pass swing trainer! WTH! Even injured my left palm..causing a blister under my middle finger.
Wednesday
-Was part of boat launching party. Woke up at 3.30am (nv woke up tt early b4 since jc, where sometimes i had long chats w/ her..Those were the times.) Left at 4 am for seletar camp. (Had i mention b4 that i owaes got to see her hse when i passed by TPE, be it when i'm gg to and fro pasir ris during BMT, or when i took tonner out to and fro bedok camp?) Unfortunately, the boatman forgot to wake up, and we cld only borrow the trailer and went over to kallang to borrow the boats instead. Returned to ECP to launch boats for those taking coastal swim. Slack there for 2 hrs, either talking cock with sergeant neo or read "Singapore Ghost Stories" (borrowed fr Thev). When we returned the boats, i realized we borrowed fr a coast guard unit (special task squadron), juz beside the national canoeing association and national dragon boat association. I oso saw lotsa big fat yellow hot-air balloons that i later found out was used for NDP. They were humongous and COOL.
-It was cohesion day in the afternoon. The boat launching party reached much later at 4.30pm. Everyone was having fun at ECP, be it soccer, swimming or frisbee. After i reached, Staff Chong started the prize presentation for "Support Challenge". It was then i knew that my section owned all the rest in psycho stripes that morn, while i was away launching boats. In fact, 80% of the prizes are given to scouts. 3 guys in my section, Dingjie, Guanyi and Thevandran received medals for longest SBJ dist, fastest shuttle run and best 2.4 timing respectiviely while Wei Guang swept both medals for most no. of sit-ups and chin-ups (his galfren shld be very proud=). Thev ,Caron, Liang Teck, Zhi Long and Kar Lok oso received awards for being the top 5 in 10km run. Our section was the best team in Psycho stripes and Captain ball, so we were awarded hampers of food! My section was also the overall champion for support challenge, as we gain lotsa points,(We were 20 pts clear of the rest) so we were awarded a plaque! Damn Cool sia.
For the rest of the day, it's either soccer, bbq or talk cock. Haven't been keeper for sometime, but i proved to be still at my prime(maybe due to the skills i picked up in street soccer). i let in some easy goals, but according to my frenz, was quite 'garang' coz i blocked a few powerful shots. Was abit melancholic when night approaches and we were given a few hrs of free time b4 we went back. Really dunno where to go or what to do. But joined Elton, Wei Guang and Terence Ching in the end..to Gelare to eat. Ordered waffle and shared w/ Wei Guang, but since i still feel hungry, i ordered brownie bliss. It's blissful man!
Thursday
-SOC trial test in the hot afternoon. Cldn't clear it surprisingly..coz of low rope! Was it coz i felt no strength in my arms? Or was it coz of the gloves. Or was it coz of wrong technique? Ah..watever, thev didn't clear it as well. and we were walking for the rest of the course until we were near the finishing pt, when sgt alvin said, "Thev, i want u to overtake LR" that we raced all the way to the finishing pt. What i felt was unfair and really shag me out this whole wk was after tt. CDS shafiq. *&^%$#@! WTH was he thinkin when he gave us xtra PT (or more lyk tekan session) when we were feeling so shag after SOC? Maybe sometimes, u can't give some pple the power. They can be fun to be with and alrite w/o the power, but they tend to abuse it when the power's with them.
Friday
-Went to fire mines 2dae. I was the only one "chosen" to ignite the landflame mine. (heard that it's the sec comd who chose de, was it coz i'm too good or they juz wanna tekan me.) I heard fr others that i muz run damn fast after ignition, away fr the mine, and the mine wld be producing heat waves. Scary sia..no wonder all my section mates told me "u r damn garang". More lyk they are saying 'good luck to u'. The actual live firing wasn't as scary as i thought. We fired claymore, landflame and non-E side charges. I didn't really ignite the landflame thou i was supposed to be the firer, coz 2LT aloysius yap was the one doing it. I ran for my life when we ignited the landflame. It was the most beautiful sight i've ever seen personally (and it proved to be the coolest among all the explosions). U can only imagine seeing those explosions in the movies, but i saw it. The whole mine burst into red-orange flames that was a few storeys tall and produce a ring (yes, a very obvious black ring) of black smoke that rose slowly into the sky, making a mickey mouse face as it rose, b4 it finally gets disperesed. Cool.
Along the bus trip to and from camp, i kept talking to alvin ong. About my nj life. Well, he said i really have lotsa stories, maybe can film them into movies?
-IPPT re-test. Holy shit, they decide to void our IPPT results last week coz of some errors done by the reservist PTI. Suck thumb. I decided to aim for gold this time, but to my even greater agony, i missed gold by 2 seconds! i clocked 9.46 for 2.4km (my best so far since i was alive)..but it wasn't enuf. i lost $100 due to that sole second...
-Went back home with weiguang after tt. Realized tt Gelare is opening soon in sun plaza. Good, an ice-cream shop near my house. Ate dinner at sun plaza kopitiam. Time for me to explore this area again after i get my khaki beret.
