I thought that spiderman3 has been the greatest movie this year..not until i watched Transformers! Coz the show is absurdly full of action and impact!
Met up with jingguo, weekiat, vincent, junhong and jefferey (not sure of spelling, 1st time meeting him, but a damn funny guy too) in Marina Square--GV Marina.
SAFRA card is damn useful sia.
We went there in the early afternoon and holy shit! We could only manage to book the tix in the evening. So we went to play pool. I was abit sian diao after 2 rounds. It juz wasn't fun playing with noobs..make me a noob too.
Then we saw this pro guy play house of the dead 4..solo..and he completed the game! Bloody hell! He could be awarded arcade best shot and best cheat! He practically knows all the secrets in the game. We were awed by his play. Towards the road to the final boss, which had 2 forms, more and more people gathered to watch. There was even this guy who kept pulling his gf back to watch the game. I can see that he is more interested than the game than his chick. LOL.
Interestingly, i saw patrick, my bmt mate, and xinming, my sec sch/jc/ogl mate at m.square too. Chat up with them..then rush for the ultimate muz-see show for this year -- TRANSFORMERS!
It was an action flick -comedy -romance -war documentary- ET -suspense thriller -detective serie -robot film all rolled into one. Never have i seen a movie that gave me such a huge impact as this.
The 1st half of the film was really crappy.. The grandma of the car salesman pointing middle finger, how the male character sam chased the female character mekelie, and the yellow car (bumble bee) chasing sam. But the real action that made the tix price worthy comes after that. The computer graphics of the machines changing into robots are really awesome! And how a group of NBE (Non biological extraterristrial) aka Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, teamed up with a group of humans including sam, mekelie, US soldiers, US defence security minister, a few analysts and some weird MIB from section 7 take on the baddies aka Decepticons, led by the all evil Megatron. All of them are after this suspicious glasses owned by sam's great grandpa which led to the secret and location of this square cube called all-spark. The plot is abit non-sensical, thou it was worth the money coz of the action. Even romance is added to the film so as not to bore the female audience (sorry if u r one who dursent appreciate machines). The film has a happy ending, with the Autobots emerging victorious and Megatron destroyed, whereas sam and mekelie are together. The original Transformers film in 1978 killed off Optimus Prime..so i was abit surprised with the ending when it was Megatron who died. The possible sad thing to note is one of bumblebee's comrades, a black car machine, was ruthlessly torn apart by Megatron. But i can't stop laughing at alot of stuff..such as the 1st time sam and mekalie saw the Autobots..and the Autobots told them "We learned the Earth language on the World Wide Web" and "We noe abt ur glasses on ebay"! LOL. The war in the city is oso very cool. But i think the gals in the film, mekalie and the female analyst, are the smartest and most garang.
Anyway..there is a lesson to learn from this film:
Everything that happens in the world is not always as it appears to be.
There's more than meet the eye.
After the 2hr plus long film, we went to imperial treasure restaurant to eat. I ate my fav dandan mian and ordered a plate of hong you chao shou (dumplings in chilli oil) as well.
Slept on the train back home..felt abit lethargic and sleepy..and this helpful old couple was very concerned if i missed my station.
I smiled at them.
The world may not be as bad as i tot after all (esp. after i saw what cld have happened to the world in Transformers)...
Maybe..there's more than meets the eye.
&its not what you think
