In the twinkling of an eye, 5 wks of BMT have gone. So did my field camp, live firing and live grenade throw. I'm only left with Sit Test, SOC and IPPT b4 i POP. (Sry for the abbreviations.) Got to noe a lot of frenz in my platoon..and my buddy is my good old rv lower sec classmate, jingguo..surprise!
Our PC Lieutenent Danny (the good guy), platoon seargeant Irwan (the clown, thou he had been MIA for quite awhile as he's clearing leave) as well as our seargents Wei Cheng (my fav), Nicholas (the mood swinger) and Sophian (the sibei cool one) are generally very nice to us. I muz sae I'm lucky to enter this platoon coz we seldom got tekan. (Thou PC3 lieutenent Mahat keep tekan-ing us)
Glad that i cld make several connections with the ppl in my platoon/company. Bryan and Shawn Tan
fr my 1st pri, peixin; Jeremin and Jingguo fr RV, and the list goes on.
Almost got confined today due to a technical handling (rifle) test in wk 2.
Was not very happy when i noe i cldn't get into my 1st choice in NTU/NUS. May consider appealing.
But was happy that Man U won the premiership..oh yeah!
Below is a summary of what happened after i got enlisted.
13-27 April
-1st 2 wks confinement for BMT
-exercises include 5BX, PT, CPT, BCCT
-SOC is my fav..it's like a playground for us..i like the monkey bar and low rope best
-my pullups sux like hell..average 6 only
-appointed armskott assistant--able to touch the "wives" of my platoon/ company mates everyday..lol
-got my own rifle..cldn't leave it ard anyhow..it's like my wife
-the meals there are excellent...breakfast got char kuay teow, hokkien mee, bee tai ba, porridge, burger; lunch and dinner got western food, claypot rice, chicken rice, mixed rice, pasta with fruit/dessert/ice-cream and soup everyday! They taste so OMFG nice!
-sore throat on 2nd wk, sibei buay tahan.but i refuse to see MO.
-reveille 0530, lights out 2230
-KID (Knock It Down)

-e-mart in BMTC is like an army goods paradise...

-in fact, i often lost my things and found them much later. Blessing in disguise.
-i love the army songs while we march..Hey hey hey hey!!!
-Route march is damn siong.
-F*ckin hell i lost my fitness. Didn't perform well for IPPT categorisation
-got a top 20 campus superstar in my platoon
-there was an incredible number of status personnel (AttB, AttC, Ex RMJ, Ex L/L) in the 2nd wk. Enuf to form a section.
-hitherto, found 2 platoon mates wif same bdae as me, 1 in my section

-see doc after i book out. Damn sore-throat. Proven to be tekong cough.
29 April
-anything worse than having to have a gathering with my dance frenz (ys,ken,wz,pearl & dashu) at kbox?
-went down beach rd to buy stuff for field camp
30 April
-went to NUS for a discretionary admission interview for FAS. F*ck!
-met a sec sch fren, yuqian, who was juz behind me for the interview
1 May
-i took back my words. It is even worse to have a 2nd kbox outing in 4 days when havin sore throat. This time with my class (ken, hj, pl, lpy, sam, ks, ftay, hl). Ate suki b4 tt.
-book-in day
-sibei unlucky. Dropped my 11B (NS IC) on the taxi. Damn lucky i recover it..but not b4 it was transferred thru a few ppl's hands. (taxi driver, a seargent fr hawk, my PC).
4-9 May
-field camp wk, 6 day 5 nite in forest
-day1, route march all the way to field camp site 1 to build basha, then learn some IFC. Chemo on. Night training. Combat ration isn't as bad as i thot it wld be. Mmmm..
-day2, did some IFC as well as UT. I prefer urban training than individual field craft. coz it's like CS. All round def is damn tiring. Prone like mad. did sanctuary at nite. sibei fun lor.
-day3, room and window clearing in UT! F*ck! Think i shot the blank straight at the seargent=p, blanks are damn nice to fire thou..but my f*ckin rifle keep giving me IA...guess it had turned into a shotgun. Muz prone like hell when sunrise and sunset.
-day4, change of field camp site. Route March to FCS2 and dig shell scrape. It's F*ckin#$%^*! difficult to dig. Fresh ration at nite.
-day5, had IFC and fresh ration for lunch. This nite is most chaotic. firstly, 3 wild boars rampaged our campsite. secondly, it's the only nite that rain. I finally realize how useful coretax is.
-day6, moved away fr FCS2 and went thru BIC. PS Robin mentioned my "cheat" incident to remind ppl who didn't bring FAD to own up. Am i honored? Crawl faster than sgt weicheng in BIC, thus i got 1.5l btl. but my dummy grenade dropped halfway..sianz. Returned to Company line and cleaned rifle for the whole afternn. Some cheebeh lost 4 magazines in our company..all of us tio gan for 2 hrs. GPMG! but the nite snacks at the canteen were good..long time nv eat chocs le.
12 May
-Book out and ate billy bombers and watched spiderman 3 with jingguo, weekiat, yewlong and junhong. To me, it was a really really meaningful movie. When Aunt May told spidey that revenge is like a poison and "Before you can begin fixing anything, you must first start by doing the hardest thing --forgiving yourself." It wld have been good if i have known this long ago. I muz admit that the computer graphics are excellent, but i spent more time trying to "feel" and put myself into the shoes of the kters. Spidey, Sandman, Mary Jane, Green Goblin and even Venom. How they muz have felt when unexpected things happen to them. Even superheroes are human, they will experience problems like me and you in real life. Has there been something someone did to you that you find it hard to forgive? Would you 4give someone who has hurt you or your loved ones? Is revenge the best way to deal with him/her? Who have you forgiven recently? Would you be brave enough to admit your mistake when you find that you are actually in the wrong? Think about it..think hard.

-Mother's Day, i bought a blue windchime with dolphins for my mom. Hope she likes it.

14-19 May
-Live range (rifle) on tue and wed. Only did zeroing on tue for my platoon. But bought and ate 5 types of choc (Kinder bueno, kitkat, milo bar, mars and snickers) when the canteen uncle came! Yummy! Went back to coy early and finally get to have lotsa admin time.
-did the real firing test on wed. scored 12 out of 16 in the day test and 11 out of 15 in the night test. The tracer at night is damn cool..like fireworks! Too bad i have an unexpended live round. Or else i could have shot 75% of 32 shots. The night sky was really nice that night. I can see astological signs in the sky..wow!
-was havin sore throat on thurs so i went with eugene michael and ming zhao to medical center to see MO. The feeling of having a status (Light duties/Att B) is actually damn shiok. Not as bad as i think. Very slack tt day, but was reminded by PC that i've to serve confinement during wkend..oops!
-another slack day on fri due to AttB status. luckily no need to serve confinement. but keep gettin f*ck by sgt sophian for our area cleaning. Due to Att B status, got to throw live grenade very early 2dae. It's quite ok lah..not as scary (or fun) as i thought. The waiting period is really......long.........
-booked out and went to singapore discovery centre as part of NE trip! Not bad lah..considering the fact that i seldom have a chance to experience civilian life for 5 wks.
Now, I'm juz waiting for this comin hectic week to be over so that i cld watch aristal '07 nxt sat. So long, folks!
